Virginia Outdoor Foundation stands up to Atlantic Coast Pipeline

The Virginia Outdoor Foundation stepped into the spotlight when they denied the applications of the Atlantic Coast pipeline from crossing land held by that trust under conservation easements.  While the ACP submitted applications to VOF stating their intended crossing followed all regulations and would not change the status of the land, VOF saw it more clearly. In a statement from their website, VOF said “It is not a question at this time of whether the crossing will be deemed to be a conversion but rather whether Atlantic will have met the statutory requirements of Va. Code § 10.1-1704.”  It is yet to be seen if the pipeline will meet Virginia legal standards for the easement conversion.  We are proud to see VOF acting against special interests to put land stewardship and preservation above profit.  Thanks for standing up for our land, VOF!
