ĀINA (pronounced “eye-nah”) means “That Which Feeds Us” in the Hawaiian language. The 23-minute documentary draws upon ancestral wisdom in order to address “some of the most pressing environmental and health crises facing the island of Kauai and the rest of the planet.”
It looks at biotech chemical companies’ presence on the island and their use of carcinogenic pesticides and experimental crop technology. In contrast, the film also highlights farming efforts on Kauai which use the wisdom of traditional resource management with a vision of five generations. Watch the video for free.
