If Northern New Hampshire is part of your search area for accessing farmland, attending an information session in North Conway next week may be a great way to get one step closer to realizing your farm goals.
Land for Good is bringing landowners, farmers and service providers together to discuss how farmers get on to, hold, and transfer farmland in New England.
The gathering is set to take place November 20 from 6-8 p.m. at The Local Grocer in North Conway, NH. Reservations are recommended.
New farmers seeking land to buy or lease will gather with landowners interested in selling or leasing to a farmer, established farmers thinking about passing on their farm to the next generation or owner, professional advisors and members of the local agricultural community.
Professionals in the local farming community will answer questions about how to plan, evaluate, buy, lease, qualify for funding, and understand conservation easements, owner financing options, and more.
Attendees will learn the top challenges that face new farmers including access to land, capital, markets, education and training, business planning and marketing, and strategies of how to navigate the process of acquiring land, tailored to specific talents, enterprises and resources. You’ll meet service providers, peers and maybe your future landlord.
Drinks and snacks will be provided by local farms and The Local Grocer. For more information or to reserve a seat, contact Land For Good at 603-357-1600 or visit www.landforgood.org/rsvp.
