The Beginning Farmer and Rancher Opportunity Act of 2013 (BFRA) has been reintroduced to the Senate and the House along with The Local Farms, Foods and Jobs Act of 2013.
The BFRA was part of last year’s farm bill that never made it to the house floor after passing both the Senate and the House Agricultural Committee. Hopefully this energy will bring the provisions of the BFRA into the new, overdue 5 year farm bill.
With the inclusion of BFRA keypoints, a new farm bill will continue pivotal funding and assistance for new agrarians and fund crucial educational and training programs.
