The Organization for Refugee & Immagrint Success (ORIS) has worked since 2012 to build a program for resettled refugee farmers to continue their agricultural careers on American soil. The group has been farming land in New Hampshire for almost 5 years and now, with collaboration from the Russell Foundation, has the opportunity to purchase the 57 acre parcel to preserve it as farmland and continue the program they have built in perpetuity. There are currently 14 refugee farmers growing on this land and they have fully integrated into the Southern New Hampshire local food network. Buying this land would ensure that they have the stability to expand their operation and can plan for the future. Help ORIS welcome a new crop of farmers to our country and make their program permanent.
