The third of a four part series presented by the Canadian National Farmers Union
(via Zoom, February 17th, 1 – 2 pm EST)
How might we provide secure, equitable, long-term land tenure to farmers? As farmers and farmworkers, fair and equitable access to farmland is an increasingly complex issue, in which the Agrarian Trust has empowered and inspired many of us to rethink and restructure our approaches to farmland.
On Thursday, February 17th NFU’s Farmland Committee will host Ian McSweeney Organizational Director of Agrarian Trust to discuss the principles of the organization, its history and structure, the work it does creating individual Agrarian Commons and the Commons Alliance, and some context on US agriculture and land trusts.
In December, the NFU hosted a conversation: Land Reform Lessons from Scotland, and in January with Terre de liens, France. In February, hear from Agrarian Trust.
The National Farmers Union / L’Union Nationale des Fermiers is unique among farm organizations: they advocate for people’s interests against corporate control of our food system. Saskatoon, SK CANADA.
