Partners of Agrarian Trust and the Agrarian Commons

US Food Sovereignty Alliance

Futurefarmers

The US Food Sovereignty Alliance works to end poverty, rebuild local food economies, and assert democratic control over the food system. USFSA believes all people have the right to healthy, culturally appropriate food, produced in an ecologically sound manner. Agrarian Trust is a member of the USFSA, and we recently became their fiscal sponsor as well. Through this collaboration we are excited to support Shakara Tyler in her new role as the USFSA Political Education Coordinator. Stay tuned for more news as this partnership develops!

Futurefarmers

Futurefarmers

Agrarian Trust is proud fiscal sponsor of Futurefarmers, a group of diverse practitioners aligned through an interest in making work that is relevant to the time and place surrounding us. Founded in 1995, the design studio serves as a platform to support art projects, an artist in residence program and our research interests. We are artists, designers, architects, anthropologists, writers and farmers with a common interest in creating frameworks for exchange that catalyze moments of "not knowing".

Writing the Land

Writing the Land is calling for poets! With support of Agrarian Trust and other partnered land trusts, Writing the Land coordinates poets to “adopt” a conserved property, partnering them with that respective land trust for the calendar year. Poets will visit these adopted properties and then create poems inspired by the land. Learn more here.

Farm and Food Businesses

As each Agrarian Commons grows, the local community of farms and food businesses that surround them are standing up in solidarity, spreading awareness, and raising funds to support access, tenure, and equity in their region.

Local partners helped made it possible for the acquisition of a 104 acre organic farm into the Little Jubba Central Maine Agrarian Commons.
